Kompositum III / GOLEM kozek hörlonski

Kompositum III / GOLEM

kozek hörlonski conceived a new performative installation against the background of current urban development processes around Vienna’s Main Station. One of the project’s central motifs was a golem, a being that owes his existence to the art of magic, i.e., the use of holy words. Starting from this figure, the collective came up with a number of pictures and scenes that were centered around a mobile installation with an adapted car trailer. Involving visitors as well as residents of the neighborhood and random passersby, workshops run by artists produced a variety of personal golems in clay. A movable golem tower left its starting point, developed a life of its own, circled, and roamed around several areas of the neighborhood (Main Station, Quartier Belvedere, Sonnwendviertel, Arsenal, Wiedner Gürtel), yet always returned to where it had come from.
