For the History of Window Displays projects taking place as part of the 2005 commemorative year, Martin Strauß and Karl-Heinz Ströhle compiled a sort of international scrapbook, summarizing the events and the EU-wide discussion that followed the swearing in of the blue-black (conservative) government in 2000. Enlarged pages of German and Austrian newspapers displayed in window displays on the one hand reflected EU's outrage while, on the other, showed national solidarity and polemics, in which the new government's opposition was declared "a treachery against Austria."
