"8 Positionen auf 8 m²" was a series of installations and performative interventions. The cultural association Mega 5 used a mobile stand of 8 m² at the Brunnenmarkt in the 16th district as a platform. During the day this "showcase" was used as a selling space and in the night and during the winter break it turned into an exhibition space.

In the course of the realization of the project the planned eight positions had to be reduced to six. Four positions referred to installations in the interior of the market stand, the two others used the roof and the street space of the neighbourhood. Hermann Staudinger's "Ephiphanie", "AussenlinsenRotlicht" by 2MC and "plastic punch - lichtpunsch" by artist Rolf Laven with petrologist Sabine Grupe placed emphasis on changes of lighting in the showcase itself. In "Mozartkugeleisbananendöner" (MKEBD) by T.Ö.F. (idea and concept: Ahmet Aksu, Clemens Novy) the hackneyed clichés of the Austrian an the Turkish cuisine were mixed together in form of a frosted dessert which was served out of a refrigerator featuring a revolving doner kebab spit.

"vis-à-vis" by Jan Machacek reflected on the changes of modes of perception brought about by the presence of surveillance cameras in public space. In this position images were transferred inside of a self-constructed helmet; these images were the only visual orientation for the person wearing it. Based on writing and voice, "temporäre Schrei(b)stube" by Didi Bruckmayr and Onno Ennoson featured a performative veiling of the stand with calligraphed wallpaper.
