As part of the Josefstadt Street Festival on September 13, starting at 12:00 p.m., curators Katharina Blaas and Cornelia Offergeld presented an exhibition entitled "Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?", which unites seven artistic positions. All projects refer in different ways to contemporary social questions. Folke Köbberling takes the car-free day as a central theme and confronts the festival visitors with "7 Commandments on Climate Emergency" in the form of a performance. With his movable sculpture "Climbing (stairs)", Max Landegren turns the entire Josefstädter Straße into a stage. As a reference to Henri Murger's novel "Bohème" (from 1851), Schorsch Böhme invites artist friends to join parts of objects with him to form new units. With his work "Lullaby for an emergency exit", Roman Britschgi creates a free space in which festival visitors are invited to let go of their everyday ballast. In the sound and space installation "Flower & Power" Susi Rogenhofer explores the boundaries between natural and artificially created things at a florist's and alludes to human longings for paradisiacal conditions. In her work "Sustenance" (food) Júlia Mag brings the stories of the Josefstadt restaurateurs to the street in the form of an installation in front of the Hotel Flemmings. The central meeting place for all art lovers is the work "Canopy" (Baldachin) by Leo Schatzl between Lange Gasse and Buchfeldgasse, with which the artist ironically addresses the space requirements of cars in large cities.
