The cultural association MIK– Mission Ignition Kagran in cooperation with the Donaustadt district administration, Wien Holding, Magistrate Sector 18 (project coordination for multiple usage) and Magistrate Sector 59 (market authority) initiated artistic temporary usage of seven empty market stands on Genochmarkt. It is hoped that usage of stands by artists exploring the urban space in the 22nd district will revive the neighborhood. The project has long-term planning and will run until the market will be dismantled in 2011. Initiators Stefanie Sandhäugl and Helmut Preis invite students and graduates of the University of Applied Arts as well as representatives of the kampolerta Collective for Landscape Architecture, among others, to participate in artistic interventions.
