Until December 20, 2022, every Wednesday and Friday between 5 and 8:30 p.m., the film will be shown as a video projection on the window front of the MIHO youth center, Mitterhofergasse 2, 1210 Vienna.
With HEAT, Anna Witt developed a cinematic choreography in workshops with young people in which the young people react with their bodies to the architecture of the Dr. Franz Koch Hof in Vienna's 21st district.
Using a special thermal imaging camera from the field of thermal building renovation, the bodies of the young people become visible in the form of their heat signatures. Through the special camera, which makes temperature differences invisible to the naked eye and thus heat losses in buildings visible in colour, their energetic silhouettes appear in front of the cold concrete of the architectural building.
silhouettes come to the fore against the cold concrete of the architectural backdrop.
By appropriating this new measuring technology, the artist directs the focus to the perspective of a young generation. The bodies visualised by their waste heat become vivid reference points for themes such as social coexistence and social warmth.
