Vienna-based performance artist Oliver Hangl organized two subjective headphone-guided urban tours of public, semi-public, and perhaps even private spaces in Vienna’s 7th and 8th districts. Using battery-powered radio, the artist infiltrated urban systems together with performance artist and musician Barbis Ruder and provided headphone information about the routes they were taking through the urban jungle. Commenting on and fictionalizing places and events, the two guides led participants (on) to see possibility in coincidence and to actively respond to the unexpected.
