bürgersteig

The Frankfurt artist Silke Wagner started organizing the sidewalk action in various German cities starting in 2001. She placed a "Lufttransa Deportation Class" sign on a VW bus and let anti-fascist and anti-discrimination groups use it. She thus triggered a public discussion about the use of Lufthansa airplanes for deportations. In Vienna, the 2005 installation was part of The New Europe.Culture of Intermingling and Politics of Representation exhibition.

Location

In front of the Generali Foundation, Wiedner Hauptstraße 15, 1040 Vienna
