Autonomous Acts, Teil 2: Nebelkammer

Henrik Plenge Jakobsen was invited to reconceptualize and rework his 1998 work Smoke, which he did under the title Nebelkammer (Cloud Chamber). Smoke was an apartment window facing the Weser River in Bremen, Germany, which started smoking and burning everyday day at 12 noon and 4 and 8 p.m. The idea of the project was to get in dialogue with passers-by and to disrupt the routine of their errands or their way to work. Jakobsen wanted to confront viewers and passers-by with questions such as if what they see is real, if the house is on fire, or if it is an enactment, and if so, what it means.
