The title of this large-format work on enamel plates by the Austrian artist Ingeborg Strobl (*1949), a Garden (for Example), refers to previous names for Novaragasse (Garden Lane from 1797 to 1812 and Gardeners’ Lane until 1862). The models used for the plant images are woodcuts from the nineteenth century, which evoke the Novara Expedition (1857–1859).
