FULLY BOOKED: City Walk –
Remember, decipher, discoverWednesday, March 25, 2026, 4–5.45 p.m.

This city walk is already fully booked. An additional tour will take place on April 15, 2026, 4.30–6.15 p.m.

Join Public Art Vienna on a journey of discovery: on March 25, 2026, you will have the opportunity to discover public art in the 3rd district—and explore how it preserves memories, opens up new perspectives on history and the present, and has a lasting impact on urban space.

On a short walk between Leon Zelman Park and the Fasanviertel neighborhood, we encounter art works from the mid-20th century to the present day. Sometimes quiet and restrained, sometimes striking and unmissable, they tell of history, identity, and the constant change in this district–and thus also of social developments as a whole.

The tour first leads to the Aspangbahnhof memorial, which is a powerful reminder of the deportations and the Holocaust. This is followed by an exploration of contemporary art in architecture in the new “Village im Dritten” district, where we also pay a brief visit to the Stadtteilmanagement Aspanggründe. We then make our way across the railway tracks to the Fasanviertel district. Here, mosaics and reliefs on post-war Viennese municipal buildings bear witness to hope, reconstruction, and social cohesion.

Wednesday, March 25, 2026, 4–5.45 p.m.

Meeting point: Aspangstraße 15, 1030 Vienna
End point: Kärchergasse 3-13, 1030 Vienna

Participation: free of charge
