The title of the project series “Wir Hier” (We Here) is, as curator Nora Mayr says, “a call, a statement, an observation—and perhaps a wish.” Together with Asma Aiad, God's Entertainment, and Michikazu Matsune, she explores questions of belonging, visibility, and coexistence in the city. The artists' projects can be seen and heard at four different locations in Vienna.
“Wir Hier” is not intended as a definitive statement, but rather as an open invitation: Who we are is not fixed – but in flux. And the “here” that we share begins with a conversation. (Nora Mayr)

With her multimedia project, artist, curator, and activist Asma Aiad creates a multi-layered image of “us.” On the walls of the Schwender Market, she displays large-format portraits of people who live in Vienna and shape the everyday life of this city, but often receive little visibility. QR codes can be used to access voice messages from the people depicted, which offer a new perspective on them and challenge preconceived role models. Along the path between the walls, Esma Bošnjaković aka Strudelworte, has spray-painted two carpets with patterns made up of handwritten messages.
God’s Entertainment, D, E, M, O, K, R, A, T, I, and E.
The Viennese collective God’s Entertainment is staging an alternative election campaign at two locations in Vienna, Resselpark and Otto Wagner Areal. There is a poster for each of the ten letters of the word “democracy.” Each letter stands for a person. QR codes on the posters can be used to access portraits and stories of people who are not allowed to vote here and are excluded from participation and co-determination, even though they have long been part of society.
Michikazu Matsune, Favorite Songs of Favoriten
Over several weeks, Michikazu Matsune asks people in the 10th district about their favorite songs and their meaning. At booth 129, he presents the archive—created during these everyday encounters in spontaneous conversations—for one week. Here, songs can be shared and insights into other people's lives gained through music. A booklet and a playlist of favorite songs are available. With your own cell phone and headphones, you can access the playlist and embark on an individual music walk through Favoriten.
