“United Workers: Work around the clock” by Susi Rogenhofer is a collaborative project between Kunst im öffentlichen Raum Wien (Public Art Vienna) and urbanize! In 2025, the international festival for urban exploration has its focus on the rhythm of the city under the title “It's about time.” The festival looks at time as an organizing structure in everyday city life and at the different rhythms of its inhabitants and questions the social, ecological, and economic effects that result from the time regimes of, for example, work and leisure.

This is precisely where Susi Rogenhofer's project comes in: In “United Workers: Work around the clock,” the artist focuses on the people who keep a city like Vienna running around the clock. Rogenhofer is concerned with visibility for the “invisible,” i.e., those who receive too little recognition and pay despite doing systemically important work. For urbanize!, the artist makes their living and working environments visible and audible in the form of a performative walk with projections. The walk begins with a conversation at the legendary Vorwärts-Haus, the former headquarters of the Arbeiterzeitung newspaper, with political scientist and expert on the history of the labour movement Georg Spitaler and historian Brigitte Pellar, who specialises in trade union history.

Viennese artist Susi Rogenhofer combines art and music in her practice. In audiovisual productions, performances, and installations, Rogenhofer, whose projects mainly take place in public spaces, addresses social and ecological issues. Under the pseudonym Sweet Susie, Rogenhofer has worked internationally as a DJ.
