The "Milchtrinkhalle der Stadt Wien" was built as part of the regulation of the Wien River (architects: Friedrich Ohmann and Josef Hackhofer) and opened in 1903. In Vienna at the turn of the century, drinking milk in parks was all the rage. In the post-war years, milk for children was sold at a lower price in the postwar years at the dairy. The dairy, which had been severely damaged during the war, was modernised in 1947 and is now a listed building. The Meierei im Stadtpark is now run as a restaurant and offers 120 different types of cheese.
Location: next to the Meierei Stadtpark, 1030 Vienna (U4 Stadtpark, U4/U3 Landstraße)
