KÖR Wien Curators in Residence-Programme in Stockholm

KÖR Wien Curators in Residence-Programme in Stockholm

Art in public space today takes place at the intersection of aesthetic, socio-cultural, spatial and political dimensions. In this complex field, an independent interdisciplinary art practice has long since emerged. In order to strengthen this, the KÖR Wien Curators in Residence-Programme offers a two-month residency in Stockholm for curators with a focus on public space.

The program is a cooperation between KÖR Kunst im öffentlichen Raum Wien and the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs (BMEIA). It is aimed at curators who work in urban public space or conduct research in the field of urban practice and whose central interest is in public space as a social space and the development of new perspectives and innovative models and formats. The aim of the program is to promote future-oriented curatorial practice, research and discourse as well as sustainable international networking.

In Sweden, the programme is supported and accompanied by the partner organization SWAN and the host institution, the CurExRes/CER residency programme. The Austrian Embassy in Stockholm integrates the curator into its cultural work programme and is in regular, subject-specific exchange during his*her stay.

Applications are open to curators with specialist training or a corresponding qualification and a connection to Vienna. Engagement with art in public space is a requirement. There is no age limit.
