Thanks to the “Prolongation of the Year of the Priest” by a week, even tardy penitents were offered the opportunity to immerse themselves in the child’s world of religious games dedicated to the exercise of power and the reaping of reward: “Brother Katharina” heard people’s confessions in a box, while “Mother Anja” (Anja Danneberg) provided spiritual aftercare with a rich offer of devotional objects and an “indulgence for at home at a special price.” The colorful five-day program of Beichten 2010 (Confessing 2010) comprising a karaoke confession contest and a psychological test focusing on dating agency sins was started off with an event celebrating the “Prolongation Act of the Year of the Priest.” Even non-Catholics who had missed out on their chance could obtain an absolute indulgence for some days. Printed “praying aids” were sold at a special stall. The event was rounded off with a philosophical disputatio and a panel discussion on the subject of sin.
